Open Grassland

Grassland, timber and water in the heart of Clay County, Indiana.
Honey Creek Hunt Club is the ground behind Harvest at Honey Creek: working Indiana hunting land, not a manicured range.
Honey Creek is a private, members-only hunting and outdoor sporting club on 983 acres just outside Cory, about 10 minutes from Terre Haute and an hour from Indianapolis. Nearly two square miles of rolling hills, more than a dozen ponds and sloughs, and managed wildlife habitat make it one of the rare properties that can support every Indiana hunting season.
Members hunt whitetail and wild turkey from covered blinds, set up on ducks and geese from the club's waterfowl blinds, and work wild quail, pheasant and chukar across dedicated upland fields. Between seasons there's fishing, canoeing and kayaking on the ponds, hiking and ATV trails, and rustic guest cabins for overnight stays.
It's a serious shooting venue, too. The club has a 25-yard pistol range, a 100-yard range, a long-range rifle course reaching past 1,200 yards and a 5-stand sporting clays course. It's home to the Indiana Sniper Series and offers tactical, safety and marksmanship training. Memberships run from single pursuits (deer, waterfowl, upland, turkey, fishing or shooting sports) up to full annual access.
For match weekend, that ground turns into a course of natural shooting positions: across open meadows, along timber edges and over the wet bottoms near the water.
Long views across rolling meadows, with plenty of room for wind to work on your bullet.
Tight lanes through the trees and targets tucked into the brush, where you have to find the shot.
Water, cattails and soft ground that make range estimation and positions harder.

The best way to see Honey Creek is from behind your rifle.
